BIDDEFORD – Asa R. Hinkley, 56, of Rose Blossom Place, 445 Main St., Biddeford, died Thursday morning, April 14, at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, after being admitted on Tuesday.
He was born Aug. 15, 1948, in Rumford, son of the late Loresten L. and Alice L. (Flagg) Hinkley Jr.
He was well-known for his sense of humor and love for life, children and country music. He enjoyed listening to his scanner, bird-watching and animals of all kinds. Asa was educated at the New Vineyard Elementary School and graduated from the Biddeford High School.
He was a member of the New Vineyard Mountain View Bible Church. He also was active in the organization Speaking Up for Us and the Special Olympics.
He is survived by his sisters, Betty Iezzi and her husband, John, of Rumford, and DeEtte Hinkley of North Anson; his brothers, Ernest Hinkley and his wife, Judy, of Wilton, Kenneth Hinkley and his wife, Linda, of Dixfield, Linwood Hinkley and Debbie of Wilton, and Calvin Hinkley and his wife, Laura, of Wilton; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Linda Morin.
