AUBURN – Aurore Daigle Vincent, 94, formerly of 9 Old Carriage Road, Auburn, passed away Sunday, April 10, at Schooner Estates, where she was well cared for and lived happily for the past six years.

Born in Upper Frenchville on April 27, 1910, she was the daughter of Victorien and Julie Bouchard Daigle. She was educated at the Holy Rosary Convent School in Frenchville and graduated from Bliss College in Lewiston.

She married Albert Vincent on April 26, 1939. Albert lost his life in Brest, France, on Sept. 16, 1944, during World War II.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Patronesses, Woman’s Literary Union, the Ladies of St. Anne-St. Louis Parish, was one of the first board members for Catholic Charities, worked as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital for decades, and was owner and manager of Vincent’s Gift Shop from 1960 to 1971. Aurore was also a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Guy Daigle, of Fort Kent and Clovis and his wife, Lucille Daigle, of Upper Frenchville; a sister-in-law, Bertha Daigle of Valencia, Fla.; three daughters, Constance and husband, Daniel Murray, of Claremont, N.H., Claire and husband, William Stitt, of Freeport, and Marie and husband, David Steele, of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Lynn Murray Pandiani, John Albert Murray, Julie Murray Pierce, Karen Steele Racicot, David Albert Steele, Susan Stitt Titcomb and Edward Jonathan Stitt; and 12 great-grandchildren, Katelyn Racicot, Andrew, Kelsey and Zachary Pandiani, Benjamin and Megan Steele, Daniel and Ellen Murray, Nicholas and Caroline Titcomb and Shannon and Kaci Pierce.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Laurette; one brother, Albert; four step-brothers, Arthur, Romeo, Alphonse and Claude Roy; one granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Stitt; and many nieces and nephews.
