It was with great joy and sadness that I read “A twist of fate strikes rescuer” on April 8 in the Sun Journal. Fate and destiny are difficult to get away from in this life. It’s too bad I can’t thank Dan Getchell for being so humble in his deed of unselfishness on that bitter cold night. But I can thank Mark Laflamme. His writing ability should be displayed closer to the front page. We need such powerful stories of human kindness in our world.

I say to the Iceman: Go help another human being. Dan Getchell passed him that torch that night to pass on to someone else.
