AUBURN – Cote Bros. Sewing Machines at the Auburn Plaza welcomes new store manager Steve Ames.

Ames has more than 11 years with G.H. Bass in various managerial positions, and owned and operated a sporting goods store for 10 years before that. He also worked in the paper industry as storeroom superintendent and asset recovery manager.

He attended the University of Maine for a year and Jefferson Community College in Kentucky where he received his degree in computer science. Ames worked at the college for two and a half years as a lab technician.

He then moved back to Maine to be near family and friends where he worked for Road King Enterprises as operations manager for more than a year before accepting a position at Cote Bros. Sewing Machines.

He and his wife, Sherry, love spending time with their 10 grandchildren. He also loves bass fishing, hunting, golfing and archery.
