LEWISTON – The Maine Event Cheer and Training Center’s All-Star teams brought home three titles at the National U.S. Cheer Competition held recently at Boston.
Earning crowns were the Junior Prep Team (6th-graders and under); the Junior Team (9th-graders and under); and the Senior Team (11th-grade and under).
Final competition this season is the American Cheer Power’s Battle of the States in Hershey Park, Pa. The Center is accepting donations and or sponsorship for teams to defer the cost of travel. Anyone interested in donating can call the gym at 783-7272.
Maine Event Cheer and Training Center is located in the Roy Continental Mill at 2 Cedar St., Lewiston. The Center is conducting new registration and tryouts for next season’s All-Star Cheer Program and the newly-formed Recreational Cheer Teams. There will be tryouts on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on May 1 from 5-8 p.m. The Center is also seeking more coaches. More information can be obtained by calling the above number.
