After reading the April 17 Sun Journal sports pages, I went over the list of girls’ basketball all-stars – first team, second team, third team and honorable mentions.
After five minutes of searching, I could not believe there was only one player from Dirigo High School. Dirigo had an undefeated season topped off with a state championship.
Rangeley had two deserving young ladies as did Hall-Dale, which Dirigo defeated three times this year.
My first thought was that the voting must have been done by groundhogs who did not come out of their holes until February.
Would it have wasted too much ink to have one more Dirigo player in the honorable mentions?
