FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital food and nutrition manager Sharon Searles recently earned the designation of registered ServSafe instructor and proctor from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

Searles is authorized to provide course instruction and examination administration for the ServSafe Manager Certification course. Prior to teaching a ServSafe class and administering the certification examination, instructors are listed in the educational foundation’s instructor directory.

Besides food service experience, the foundation requires all new instructors to have taken the ServSafe course and have achieved a score of 90 percent or above within the last five years, and possess a high school diploma. In addition to those prerequisites, Searles recently successfully completed a ServSafe Food Managers Certification course.

She resides in Jay and has been employed by Franklin Memorial Hospital for nine years.
