LIVERMORE – The town received notice Wednesday that it will receive a $3,000 matching grant for tree maintenance and replanting.

Voters raised $3,000 for cemetery improvements last year, which will be used to match the Project Canopy grant administered by the Maine Forest Service, said Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub on Friday.

The project encompasses the town’s cemeteries and other town property, Schaub said. Elementary schoolchildren will be helping with the planting, he said. Dennis Stires and other members of the cemetery committee are involved in the grant project.
