RUMFORD – Lyanne D. Boivin, 60, of 671 Crescent Ave., Rumford, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 24, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Rumford, on Nov. 13, 1944, daughter of Stanley and Eva (Fitzmorris) Spaulding. She attended schools in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School in 1962.

She married J. Arthur Boivin on Nov. 24, 1962.

She was a lifetime resident of the Rumford area. A dedicated mother, she had five children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was an inspiration of love and compassion for all in her life.

Although most of her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren, she was employed at various locations in the local area, including Dr. Gallant, Rumford Hospital as a certified nurse’s assistant and switchboard operator, as well as a volunteer at the What Not Shop’ and as a Den mother for the Cub Scouts.

She attended Mexico Baptist Church and later became a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Parish of Rumford. She was active in the parish as a Eucharistic Minister, Religious Education Teacher, and member of the Church Choir. She also coordinated many pilgrimages to religious shrines in Canada, all in support of the local parish and community.

She loved outdoor activities to include camping, hiking, snowmobile and four-wheeler riding, gardening, and water skiing. She also enjoyed quilting, oil painting, and traveling.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, J. Arthur Boivin; parents, Stanley and Eva Spaulding of Mexico; sister Shirley Spaulding/Porter and her husband, Ronald, of Windham; son, Darren and wife, Loretta, of Peru; daughter, Kim Boivin of Rumford; son, Gregory and wife, Katherine, of Kenduskeag; daughter, Lynn and husband, Rick Holmes, of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Elise Boivin of Greenwood; grandchildren, Derek, Nicole and Danielle Baltrus of Rumford, Brittany, Mark, Dawn and Amy Boivin of Peru, Cody Boivin of Greenwood, Michelle and Crystal Holmes of Las Vegas, Nev., and Amanda and Brandon Boivin of Kenduskeag; great-granddaughter, Alexis Baltrus of Rumford; also many nieces, nephews and her extended family and dear friends.

She was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Spaulding Jr.
