LEWISTON – Sharon Elizabeth Ridlon, 50, of Auburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, April 26, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of Robert M. and Elizabeth (Baxter) Ridlon, born on April 22, 1955, in Portland. She graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1973 and from the University of Farmington in 1975.

She worked for many years at Pineland in Pownal as well as various positions providing loving care and respect to individuals with varying physical and mental challenges. She worked part-time for most of her adult life for the Maine Turnpike Authority.

Her loving and caring heart touched the many lives she came in contact with and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Sprague of Livermore; her mother, Elizabeth Ridlon of Lady Lake, Fla.; her sister, Gayle Jones and husband, Matthew, and their two children; a brother, Robert Ridlon, all of Baxley, Ga.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert M. Ridlon.
