FARMINGTON – The Sandy Andy Science Fair top five places in each category/grade level held April 14 at the University of Maine at Farmington are announced.

Grade eight inventions: first, Kayla Chiasson/Devon Vaughn, Peru; second, Bryndi Richards, Jay; third, Katie Hall, Jay; fourth, tie, Justin Shink, Peru, and Erika Newman, Livermore Falls; and fifth, Emily Boivin, Jay.

Grade seven inventions: first, Ray Lewis, Mt. Blue Middle School, Farmington; second, Carl Zorhurst, Mountain Valley Middle School, Mexico; third, Brooke Nichols, Mt. Blue Middle; fourth, Zach MCPhee, Mountain Valley; and fifth, Zach Wrenn, Mt. Blue Middle.

Grade six inventions: Brianna Stanley, Zack Vayda, Rachel Caron, Cole Eastman and Raina Handler, all of Buckfield/Sumner schools.

Grade eight physical science: Lisa Picccirillo, Deagan Conrad and Eva Thorton, all of Telstar Middle School, Bethel; James Moulton and Katelynn Rock/Heidi Cox, all of Peru.

Grade seven physical science: Megan Bonney, Telstar Middle; Alex Lee, Mt. Blue Middle; tied for third, Joel Putman, Telstar, and Brittany Wiley, Buckfield/Sumner; tied for fourth, Alexis Burbank, Jay Middle, and Tyler Aldrich/Tommy Conroy, Telstar Middle; Robert Boutte, Mountain Valley Middle.

Grade six physical science: Jeremy Putman and Ciara Nadeau, both Telstar Middle; Arik Fenstermacher; tied for fourth, Sam Southan of Telstar and Nate Papsadora of Mountain Valley; Mike Wilson, Livermore Falls Middle.

Grade eight biological: Hannah West, Mt. Blue; Hannah Stanley/Hannah Mikkonen, Peru; Zoe Hardy, Mt. Blue; Ashley Moro, Peru.

Grade seven biological: Michael MacKnight, Telstar; tied for second, Evan Fessenden, Telstar, and McKenzie Parr, Mountain Valley; Chelsea Freeman, Jay; Ashlee Hamann, Buckfield-Sumner; Mallory Bonnevie, Jay.

Grade six biological: Ben Higley, Mountain Valley; Victoria Forkus, Telstar; Brittany Dolloff/Sara Ferrazzi and Dakota Sylvestar, all of Peru.
