PORTLAND – Barbara L. Saucier, 67, of 485 Route 202, Greene, died Friday, April 29, at Maine Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Presque Isle, on May 2, 1937, the daughter of Merle and Adeline (Lovely) Belmain.
She has been a homemaker and mother. She loved traveling, cooking, gardening, hiking the Appalachian Trail, fishing, Blue Grass and Country Western music. She was a loving and strong woman with a good sense of humor.
She is survived by her mother, Adeline Nelson, of Hastings, Minn.; her companion for more than 26 years, Vital “Vic” Gagnon, of Greene; two sons, Ronald Jr. and his wife, Helen Saucier, of Auburn, and Dwayne Saucier of Lewiston; five daughters, Rosemary and her husband, Leslie Verrill, of Bowdoinham, Dona and her husband, Michael Verrill, of Durham, Brenda and her husband, William Hamm, of Canaan, Laurie Cothran of Waterville, and Tina and her husband, Michael Marsh, of Lewiston; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father; and her husband, Ronald Saucier Sr., on Oct. 16, 1977.
