AUBURN – A section of Mount Auburn Avenue was closed during the afternoon commute Thursday after a three-vehicle pileup at Gracelawn Avenue.
Only minor injuries were reported when vehicles driven by Roberta Veilleux, 62, of Auburn; Joshua Bowring, 19, of Vassalboro; and Sarah Landry, 22, of Monmouth, collided at 4:32 p.m. Thursday at the intersection. Police directed traffic around the intersection as emergency crews responded and the wreckage was cleaned from the road. Mount Auburn Avenue was reopened to traffic by 5:30 p.m.
Damage to Veilleux’s 1998 Ford was estimated at $3,500; to Bowring’s 1989 Pontiac, $5,000; and to the 2002 Honda, driven by Landry and owned by John F. Murphy Homes, $6,000.
