CARRABASSETT VALLEY – John Robert Ostrom, 59, of Carrabassett Valley, died Saturday, April 30, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Linus S. and Helen (Wickstrom) Ostrom. He received his education in Michigan schools, graduating from Washington Trade School.

He was a very loving and caring person to all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sister, Lynn Chase, of Carrabassett, and her three children, Michelle Fassett and her husband, Frank, and their children, Haize and Carson of Boothbay Harbor; Cheri Erskine and her husband, Mark, and their children, Hannah and Hailey of Weare, N.H.; and Eric Chase of Freeport; and a special cousin, Barbara and her husband, Bob Robinson, of Monson, and their children, Vickie Busque and Debbie Dellaire.
