BERLIN, N.H. – Members of Western Mountains Senior College are invited to experience a day at the Norwegian Folk Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the eight-acre Northern Forest Heritage Park site, Main Street.

The historical park is well known for its restoration of a North Woods tradition and the preservation of ethnic cultures that made it possible. No registration is required; show a membership card at the entrance gate for a discounted admission fee of $5.

Among the many activities throughout the day in addition to tours are strolling fiddlers, heirloom films, bake sale, Norwegian sweaters, and folk art sale. A highlight of the day will be an authentic Norwegian smorgasbord at noon for a fee of $12.

For those who wish to stay into the evening, the Norwegian Festival will continue at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St., where a renowned Hardanger fiddler from New York, Toby Weinberg, will give a concert. Admission at the door is $l0.
