DALLAS PLANTATION – A fire that destroyed a mobile home Sunday on Loon Lake Road was intentionally set, a state fire investigator said Thursday.
The trailer wasn’t occupied, and there was no power to it. The owner of the mobile home, Ryan Thompson of Rangeley, contacted Rangeley Fire Chief Rudy Davis on Sunday when he discovered the smoldering remains.
“There were no accidental causes for the fire,” said Richard Shepard, a senior state fire investigator. The state is treating it as an incendiary fire, he said, which means it had a human element and was intentional.
Shepard said interviews are being conducted. Once he gets reports on them from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Rangeley Police Department, he’ll schedule a time to return to Franklin County.
