This is in response to the Sun Journal article April 29 about the rally in Augusta against the newly passed anti-discrimination law concerning gays and lesbians. I understand that people have the right to free speech, but I also believe people have the right to do as they choose.

It is my opinion that the Christians should just let it go. I’m a supporter of gay and lesbian rights, and I think the law is a good thing. It just outlaws discrimination against gays.

There is a law against discrimination on the basis of race, religion and sex. They are all the same. Discrimination is wrong no matter how it’s put.

I just hope our state officials do not back down.
