LEWISTON – Richard N. Caron, 53, of 135 Horton St., died Thursday, May 5, at his residence.

He was born in Lewiston, March 21, 1952, the son of Roger and Georgette Letourneau Caron. He was educated in Lewiston schools.

He served in the U.S. Army from May 1971 to June 1974. His enlistment was extended so he could be a Recon Forces instructor at Fort Hood, Texas, during the Vietnam War. He also served in U.S. Army Reserves as an electrician until 1979.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by six sisters, Lorraine Dumond of Auburn, Patricia Labreck and husband, Michael, of Lewiston, Rita Blanchette of Lewiston, Rachel Therriault and husband, Dennis, of Lewiston, Diane Shaw of Norridgewock, Susan Lachance of Minot; three brothers, David Caron of Lewiston, George Caron and wife, Lisa, of Lisbon, and John Caron and his wife, Carol, of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Anita.
