NORWAY – Thelma R. Card, 94, of Norway, beloved wife and grandmother, died Saturday, May 7, at her home.

She was born in Albany, May 30, 1910, a daughter of Edwin and Alice Mills Rolfe and was a 1929 graduate of Gould Academy in Bethel.

On Jan. 21, 1939, she married Herman Card.

Over the years, Thelma had taught school, waitressed, cooked, cared for children, worked the early hot lunch program in Norway and retired from J.J. Newberry’s in 1972.

She was a member and longtime treasurer of the Floyd-Harlow VFW Auxillary, Post 9787.

She loved to knit, do crosswords, play cribbage, and feed her wild birds.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herman; two sisters, Ruth Kittridge and Arlene Merrill; a son, Harley Morse; grandchildren, Leon Morse and his wife, Sally, Connie Sessions and her husband, Waren; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Wadsworth.

She was predeceased by brothers Nelson, Marshall, Winfield and Harold Rolfe; sisters, Norma Jodrey and Betsey Grover; and a great-granddaughter, Desiree Wadsworth.
