NEW YORK – Tino Martinez homered for the fourth consecutive game, a two-run drive that sent the suddenly streaking New York Yankees to a 7-4 win over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.
Chien-Ming Wang got his first major league victory as New York overcame a two-run deficit and extended a regular-season winning streak to four for the first time since September.
Aaron Sele (2-4) didn’t make it out of the third inning, and the Mariners lost for the ninth time in 10 games.
Wang (1-1), a right-hander from Taiwan starting because Jaret Wright is on the disabled list, allowed runs in each of the first two innings but only two hits after that.

BALTIMORE -Pinch-hitter Jacque Jones and Shannon Stewart homered on successive pitches from Steve Kline in the 10th inning, and the Minnesota Twins rallied to beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 Tuesday night.

ARLINGTON, Texas -Gary Matthews Jr.’s first homer of the season broke a tie, and Hank Blalock also homered and drove in three runs as the Texas Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 .

MIAMI – Mike Lowell snapped a slump and broke a tie with a two-run double, and the Florida Marlins scored five times in the eighth inning to beat the Houston Astros 6-2.

CINCINNATI – Sean Casey drove in three runs with a pair of doubles, and the Cincinnati Reds’ besieged bullpen ended a long stretch of miserable performances by preserving a 5-1 victory over the San Diego Padres.
Cubs 7, Mets 0
CHICAGO -Greg Maddux struck out 10 in his best outing of the season, and Corey Patterson hit two solo homers to lead the Chicago Cubs over the New York Mets 7-0.
