JAY – A 12-year-old girl was injured in a four-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Main Street.

A 2004 Ford pickup by Gene Allen, 62, of Jay, was traveling north when it struck the rear of a 2003 Jeep Cherokee also headed north.

The Jeep, driven by Pamela Stebbins, 43, of Livermore Falls, had stopped and Stebbins was waiting to make a left turn into the Otis Credit Union parking lot.

Ashley Stebbins, a passenger in the Jeep, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar Ambulance after she complained of back pain.

The Jeep was pushed into a 1998 Pontiac driven by Sharon Warren, 59, of Jay, which was stopped in traffic and also headed north.

A 2001 Chrysler van was also damaged as it headed south on Main Street when its windshield was struck by flying debris from the Jeep.

Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $10,000; to Allen’s Ford, $7,000; to the Pontiac, $500; and to the Chrysler van, $500.
