LEWISTON – Sangai Asia, a student organization at Bates College dedicated to exploring the cultures of Asia, will offer an Asian barbecue and a fireworks display in a late celebration of the Lunar New Year.

The fireworks over Lake Andrews, on the Bates campus, will begin at 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 20. The rain date is May 21. The barbecue will take place before and after the fireworks.

The event is open to the public. Admission is free. The barbecue costs $2 per serving; supplies are limited and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
