AUBURN – Craig Wade, a senior at Dirigo High School in Dixfield and a metal trades student at Region 9 School of Applied Technology, was chosen as Student of the Year for Region 9.

He and many other Students of the Year from some of the 26 vocational schools around the state were honored at Central Maine Community College in Auburn on April 30.

Wade received a $1,000 scholarship, which he plans to use in the fall when he enters Southern Maine Community College where he plans to major in manufacturing technology.

The staff at Region 9 chose Wade because of his good grades in academics and the metal trades.
