LEWISTON – Muriel Jean Hubbard Griffin, 70, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, May 19, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.

She was born in Castle Hill, on Feb. 4, 1935, the daughter of James Hubbard and Myrtle Carter Hubbard Brown. She graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery, in 1955.

She married Lawrence (Dale) Griffin, on Nov. 10, 1972, in Mapleton.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Myrtle and Howard Brown, of Winslow; one brother, Gary Hubbard of Elliot; two sisters, Carol Hanson of Mapleton and Lorraine O’Brien of Peshastin, Wash.; four daughters, Donna Pelkey of Bangor, Laurie Brown of South China, Jackie Putnam of Mapleton and Lynn Gordon of Winthrop; two stepdaughters, Julie Sheppard and Joan Griffin of Augusta; a stepson, Michael Griffin of Yarmouth; a daughter-in-law and son-in-laws; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and aunts, uncle, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, William H. Manson Jr.; a sister, Jackie Hubbard; and a brother, Carlton Hubbard.
