AUBURN – Frances F. Thurlow, 70, died Monday morning, May 23, at Clover Manor with her family at her side.

She was born in Lisbon, Feb. 3, 1935, a daughter of Haurdman and Cora (Ackley) Ross. She was educated in Lisbon schools and graduated from Lisbon High School with the Class of 1954.

She worked many years in local shoe shops and was a longtime member of the L & A Snowshoe Club.

Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were shopping, especially for bargains, crocheting, knitting and dancing. She also greatly enjoyed the company of her cats, and her large collection of cat figurines.

She leaves four sons, Tony Thurlow and his wife, Vereen, of Auburn, Steve Pendleton and his wife, Shari, of Waterville, Dennis Moro and his wife, Jeannie, of Peru, and Thomas Thurlow and his wife, Kats, of Buckfield; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bulda Moses of Wilton and Daisy Brown of Lewiston; and two brothers, John Ross of Florida and Willmont Ross of New York.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Eric Thurlow; and a brother, Gordon Ross.
