LIVERMORE – The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center invites the public to its annual Sheep to Shawl Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28. There is a $3 admission.

Beginning at 9 a.m., ongoing demonstrations will teach participants the steps it takes to process wool into yarn. Participants will learn and experience first hand the art of shearing, skirting, washing, carding, spinning and knitting.

There will be an informational class on “Proper Sheep Care and Breed Selection” at 10 a.m. and “Sheep Tales” at 11 a.m. with visiting historical farmer Fred DePaul. Lunch will lbe available for $5, then there will be sheep herding demonstrations with John Simmons and his border collie, Tess.
