Before anyone signs a petition to change our state budget, I ask them to consider the consequences.

We have to accept that when we required that property taxes be lowered the money has to be made up somehow. In my opinion, the governor and the Legislature did the very best they could under that restriction.

If there is money being wasted or being spent unwisely, I invite those who are sponsoring this petition to tell us where. We do have some very serious problems to deal with: Jobs are disappearing overseas, the Pentagon proposal, trying to figure out Medicaid, lack of medical insurance and how to pay for education and roads.

Please do not put us back in limbo.
