MECHANIC FALLS – Pottle Hill Inc. will hold its 24th annual road race on Saturday, June 25, starting from the Town Square.

Known over the years as “New England’s Toughest 10K,” the event will starts with a tamer one-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. followed by the start of the 5K at 9 a.m. and the 10K at 9:15 a.m.

The course is hilly and scenic and mostly rural, well marked, wheel measured, split time with water stations along the way. Refreshments will be available after the race. Registration fee for the 10K and 5K is $10 before June 6, $12 thereafter. Early registrants will also receive a free T-shirt. Registration for the Fun Run is $3. Lots of prizes will be awarded.

The annual road race is Pottle Hill’s primary fund-raiser, with all proceeds dedicated to Pottle Hill programs for persons with disabilities.

There are several levels of sponsorship, with sponsors displayed on banners, on race T-shirts and newsletters. Donations can be used for many purposes, such as wellness activities, improvements for accessibility, equipment and vehicles and medical devices to assist mobility.

To sponsor the Pottle Hill Road Race, to register to run in the race or to volunteer on race day (volunteers receive a T-shirt, too), call Suzanne Dunham at 753-1457, ext. 12, or send e-mail to pottle@megalink.net.
