FARMINGTON – Mary Ellen “Marie” Sapp Anneley, 81, of Farmington, died Friday evening, May 29, at her Meadow Lane Home with her family by her side.

She was born April 1, 1924, in Atlantic City, N.J. a daughter of the late David C. and Beatrice (McGowan) Sapp.

She was a graduate of Atlantic City High School, Atlantic City, N.J.

On April 22, 1952, she married Harry Anneley Jr. in Elkton, Md.

She will be remembered as a woman of great faith and spirituality who found strength in family and friends. She was quiet, caring and compassionate She found pleasures in the simplest things, like close conversations, birds in the yard, a day trip to the Maine Coast, and the times with her family.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, doll collecting, her pets, Katie, her sheltie dog, and her cat, Polly. She loved vacationing in Maine until her husband’s retirement in 1990 when they were able to move to Farmington from New Jersey. Most of all, she loved her family.

In addition to her husband of more than 53 years of Farmington, she is survived by a daughter, Susan M. Anneley of Jay; a grandson, Harry E. Anneley of Winslow; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Anneley of Winslow.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, John Anneley, who passed away on July 29, 2004.
