AUGUSTA – Michele A. “Mickey” Turgeon, 79, of Northern Avenue, died Saturday, May 28, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a long illness.

She was born in Augusta, on Oct. 1, 1925, the daughter of Alfred J. Turgeon and Bernadette (Arbour) Turgeon.

She was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Norton, Vt., and she received her laboratory training at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in Sherbrooke, P.Q., Canada.

Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed at the Augusta Mental Health Institute for 30 years. When she retired, she was the lab supervisor. Michele was previously employed as a laboratory technician by St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston for seven years.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Center Charismatic Movement, and Maine State Retirees Association.

Surviving is a sister, Therese Turgeon of Augusta; two sisters-in-law, Jeannine Turgeon and Muriel Turgeon, both of Augusta; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Emile Turgeon in 1980, and Roland Turgeon in 1994; and a sister, Jeanne d’Arc Turgeon in 1982.
