FAYETTE – Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide and chairman of the Christian Film and Television Commission, will speak at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, and 10 a.m. Sunday, June 5, at the Fayette Baptist Church, 39 Baldwin Hill Road. His topic will be “Making Media-Wise Kids.”

Baehr graduated summa cum laude in comparative literature from Dartmouth College, attended Cambridge University, the University of Bordeaux and Toulouse and the University of Munich.

He graduated with a juris doctor from NYU School of Law and finished his theological studies at the Institute of Theology.

Baehr’s work has been featured in such publications as USA Today, the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post.

He has been a guest on such shows as Oprah, CNN and Entertainment Tonight.

Baehr’s lectures have taken him to the Bombay Communication Institute in India, Dartmouth College, the University of Virginia and UCLA. He was president of the organization that produced “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe,” which won him an Emmy Award.

Baehr also produced hundreds of programs for PBS television as well as many programs for other television networks.

He is on the board of many organizations, including the National Religious Broadcasters, Religious Heritage of America and the Steering Committee of the Theological Summit Conference.
