SOUTH PARIS — Lauren Austin hit a two-out, walk-off triple in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift Oxford Hills to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Brunswick in a KVAC softball matchup on Tuesday.

With two outs in the 12th inning Randi Arsenault hit a hard shot to shortstop that she parlayed into an infield single. Arsenault was then lifted for pinch runner Tiera Durgen who would then score on the triple by Austin. Arsenault pitched 12 scoreless innings, scattering seven hits to the notch the win for the Vikings (12-4).

Chelsey Blais pitched eleven and two thirds scoreless innings, striking out 16 batters along the way to keep the Dragons (14-2) in the game.

Lewiston 2, Waterville 0

WATERVILLE – Ali Coleman’s sharp single to center field in the top of the third inning drove in Danielle Willey as Lewiston downed Waterville 2-0 in KVAC softball play on Tuesday.

Willey led of the top of the third inning with a single to right, advanced on a bunt single from Melissa LaCroix, and raced home with the winning run for the Blue Devils (8-7) when Coleman singled to center. LaCroix added an insurance run on a fielders’ choice by Amanda Michaud to account for the final score.

Michaud also picked up the win, striking out three while surrendering just three hits.

Camden Hills 4, Oak Hill 2

CAMDEN – Camden Hills used a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning to propel Camden Hills to a 4-2 win over Oak Hill in KVAC softball action on Tuesday.

Caitlin Brown laced a double to right centerfield, driving in a pair of runs for the Windjammers as they pushed their record to 7-9. Miranda Kelly picked up the win with a complete game.

The Raiders were led by Magan Blais with a double and single while Sarah Radovich chipped in with a pair of singles.

Jay 4, Wiscasset 0

JAY — Bree Loon fired a one-hitter to lead Jay to a 4-0 win over Wiscasset in MVC softball action on Tuesday.

Loon was the winning pitcher for the Tigers (15-1), striking out 13 batters to give her a total of 213 strikeouts on the season and 727 strikeouts for her high school career. Sara Fetterhoff was the offensive highlight for Jay, going 1-for-3 with a two-run triple.

Rachel Gray started on the mound for the Redskins, going six innings and yielding four runs on six hits.

Mt. Abram 15, Boothbay 5

BOOTHBAY – Ashley Dellesandro belted out a pair of hits and had five RBIs to lead Mt. Abram to a 15-5 victory over Boothbay in a MVC softball matchup on Tuesday.

Emily Stinchfield chipped in for the Roadrunners (11-5) with three hits highlighted by a pair of doubles. Stephanie Lubum also added a double. Katie Walker scattered three hits in seven innings of work to notch the win.

Ali Hartley handled pitching duties for the Seahawks (3-11), allowing only two runs until a damaging fifth inning.

Skowhegan 5, EL 0

SKOWHEGAN – Brittany Vigue walked to lead off the bottom of the third inning, stole second and raced home with a run on Whitney Fortier’s double as Skowhegan toppled Edward Little 5-0 in KVAC softball play on Tuesday.

Mariah Daigle picked up the shutout, tossing a complete game for the Indians (14-2).

Lyndsay St. Hilaire and Sam Nickerson accounted for the only hits for the Red Eddies (3-12).

Madison 18, Winthrop 2

WINTHROP — Ashley Manandola and Sarah Smith combined to pitch a two-hitter as Madison rolled past Winthrop 18-2 in an MVC softball game on Tuesday.

Jessica Hayden hit a triple to spark the Bulldogs (12-4) offensively. Jessica Romano and Jade Clukey each added a double to help power Madison.

Kayla Kimball was shouldered with the loss for the Ramblers (1-13), surrendering nine runs in the game.

Telstar 8, Georges Valley 0

THOMASTON – Jillian Kimball scattered three hits, struck out eight and walked none as Telstar rolled over Georges Valley 8-0 in late-season softball action on Tuesday.

Kimball also helped the Rebels (12-2) two hits and one RBI, while Tiffany Jordan and Abby Hutchins added two hits apiece.

Heather Watts handled pitching duties for Georges Valley (7-5) and suffered the loss. Watts kept her opponents at bay the first three innings.

Lacrosse

Mountain Valley 14, Lincoln 12

NEWCASTLE – Jessica Allen netted an impressive 11 goals Tuesday afternoon to lead Mountain Valley to a 14-12 victory over Lincoln Academy in a girls’ lacrosse matchup on Tuesday.

Angie Child chipped in for the Falcons (2-10) with two goals, while Melissa Oldham’s single tally completed the scoring.

Rachel Calden made 16 saves in net to notch the win.

Jess Hutchins led Lincoln (2-10) with four goals, while Carly Williams added three. Amanda Wager, Mae Ciampa, Christie Hammond, Noel Brasford and Ruthie Langton also scored to round out the final tally. Liz Barclay handled netkeeping duties with nine saves on the day.

Lewiston 11, Brunswick 9

OAKLAND – Kelsey Varney netted three goals and led a group of six players to tally goals as Lewiston rolled to a 11-9 victory over Brunswick in the KVAC girls’ lacrosse championship game on Tuesday.

Kelsey Rodrigue, Marina MacDonald and Luca Jacobsen tallied two goals each for the Blue Devils, while single goals by Caitlin Anthoine and Lea Chouinard completed the scoring. Mary Leblanc made 17 saves in net to notch the win.

Jess Hyde, Mary Vaughan and Lilly Shipley led the No. 1-seeded Dragons with two goals each.

, while single tallies by Meg Clement, Becky Halmo and Fran Shirley rounded out the final tally. Casey Gosseling handled netkeeping duties with nine saves.
