AUGUSTA – Irma Dudley Folsom, 92, a resident of Main Street, Monmouth, died Tuesday, May 31, at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta, following a short illness.

Born in Rome, on March 25, 1913, she was the daughter of Leon and Ethel (Pinkham) Dudley. She graduated from Monmouth Academy in the Class of 1931.

She married Harold Folsom Sr. on May 12, 1934, in Lewiston. He died on Sept. 1, 1976.

Irma Folsom was known as “Grammie” Folsom to all of the children in the Monmouth School system because of the 26 years she worked in the school cafeteria as a cook.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Boynton Chapter, a 76-year member of Monmouth Grange, a member of Friday Club, and a member of Monmouth Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed reading, playing games, cards, bingo and doing crafts.

She is survived by four sons, Harold Folsom Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Newbury Park, Calif.; Linwood Folsom and his wife, Marianne, Leroy Folsom and his wife, Mary, both of East Boston, Mass., and Laurence Folsom and his wife, Elaine, of Monmouth; three daughters, Rowena Lane and her husband, Willard, of Arley, Ala., Rebecca Ferguson and her husband, John, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Karen Mitchell and her husband, Walter, of Fayette; 36 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Francis M. Folsom, and two daughters, Annie F. Smith and Charlene Lavoie.
