MECHANIC FALLS – Marylin Newell has launched Life Matters, a company to help people be successful on and off the job.
Newell counsels individuals and groups around work/life balance and in other personal and professional areas. She is a certified coach and registered counselor, and holds a master’s degree in adult education from the University of Southern Maine.
Newell plans to offer professional and personal development seminars at the Life Matters classroom in Mechanic Falls where she will also provide individual counseling and coaching. Work-related seminar topics will include time management, negotiating, leadership, business development and communication skills. Personal development topics for seminars and private counseling and coaching sessions include divorce recovery, career coaching, parenting skills, and weight management. Some seminars are designed just for fun (Dejunk Your Life and Speed Cleaning, for example) while others have a distinctly spiritual dimension including a series called EPIC seminars (EPIC is an acronym for Experiencing Power in Christ).
Additionally, she will facilitate the final segment of the four-day New England College Council Leadership Academy, leading participants through a Negotiating Style Inventory workshop in Stowe, Vt., on June 15.
