FARMINGTON – The Maine Antique Tractor Club will hold its 10th annual Tractor Festival on June 24, 25 and 26 at the Farmington Fairgrounds.

The featured tractor will be a Massey Harris. There will be an admission charge of $4 per adult, $2 for children ages 11 to 17 and children under 10, free.

There will be tractor games, lawn and garden tractor pulling, women’s skillet toss and men’s hay bale toss, pedal tractor pull for small children, a parade of tractors, tractor games and antique tractor pulls (tractors must be pre-1961.)

In addition, there will be a large flea market and swap meet all three days, old machinery demonstrations, an antique engine show, a children’s area and crafters and vendors.

The club is a family-oriented, nonprofit organization that focuses on the preservation of information, documents and artifacts relating to the invention, development and use of farm tractors and related implements and equipment. Members also endeavor to teach present and future generations about the uses of the antique tractors, implements and equipment and show them at work.

Originally founded in 1994 by a handful of tractor lovers, the club has grown to almost 500 members and sponsors. Membership is not limited to those who own restored tractors. Unrestored tractors, straight off the farm, are popular, too. In fact, it is not necessary to own a tractor in order to participate in club activities.
