I can now see why the news media are held in even lower esteem than used-car salesmen and other reviled professions. They are now trying to portray W. Mark Felt as a hero.
He is a coward of the greatest magnitude. His motives were simple: personal revenge, not patriotism.
Why did he deny the truth for over 30 years?
Don’t even think of me as a Nixon apologist, as I couldn’t stomach him 40 years ago and I definitely don’t care for him or his legacy now.
I guess that it is funny how today’s press wants to canonize Felt, but reviles Linda Tripp. What was the difference between the two?
You want heroes, walk through any cemetery and bow your head to all the servicemen and women buried there.
You want a coward, take a good look at W. Mark Felt.
But fear not, I’m sure that Ted Kennedy will nominate him for a Profile in Courage award any day now.
