This is a response to the “Front Porch” commentary in The Sun Journal (May 29) by James Carignan.

He refers to “George Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove as three controllers of the mean-spirited wind machine.” What a bunch of bull as these three people could not come close to the vicious Democratic windbags.

First there is Howard Dean, who is a national embarrassment with his juvenile nastiness and unhinged demeanor.

Sens. Ted Kennedy, Charles Schumer, Chris Dodd and others have made ridiculous and partisan comments.

Finally, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid commented on what is in the confidential file on one of President Bush’s judicial nominees. FBI files contain raw allegations, fair or unfair that have not been investigated or proven. He should be removed from the Senate for this action.

George Bush was elected president and has the sole responsibility to nominate judges with the advice and consent of the Senate. Carignan said Priscilla Owen is unfit to serve. Owen received 86 percent of the vote in the last election for the Texas Supreme Court. This would trump what a few self-appointed liberal elites would favor. President Bush has appointed judges who follow the constitution, unlike many liberal activist judges.

I am not happy with all the Republicans are doing in that they are spending too much money and not doing anything about illegal immigration. However, I feel that Mr. Carignan is being partisan and unfair.
