AUBURN – Asia Burrill hit a two-run double in the top of the third that scored Ashley Dalessandro and Emily Stinchfield as Mt. Abram defeated St. Doms 5-2 in the Western Class C semifinals Saturday.
Mt. Abram’s starter Katie Walker scattered three hits and struck out six.
Heather Hayes started the scoring for the Roadrunners in the second with a two-run single that brought home Burrill and Bethany Wheeler.
Elisha Dorso and Micaela Kelly both scored on errors in the fourth for the Saints (13-4). Saints pitcher Emily Goss struck out six.
NYA 5, Buckfield 3
BUCKFIELD – Jason Kroot scored an unearned run in the third inning to secure a semifinal victory for No. 5 North Yarmouth Academy is a 5-3 win over Buckfield in the Western Class D baseball semifinals.
The Panthers (10-6) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first and held off a furious comeback by the Bucks (11-6).
Jamie Henderson suffered the loss for the Bucks despite striking out fives.
Chris Reuter and Justin Dodge each had a pair of hits, including a double, as Buckfield mounted a comeback with a run in the third and two more in the fifth, but DeLuca shut the door for the final two innings for the Panthers.
