The SAD 58 budget for 2005-06 passed by a wide margin in all five towns during a referendum Tuesday.

In Article 2, SAD 58 asked the towns to agree to appropriate a total of $5,310,726.38, to fund public education, $2,126,124 of which would be raised by the towns through taxation. The article passed 217-44. The remaining $3,184,602.38 will come from state subsidy.

Article 3, asking the towns to raise $235,030 for annual payments on debts previously approved by district voters, passed 218-43.

Article 4 asked district voters to raise an additional $1,085,807.67 not met by the state’s Essential Programs and Services model. Voters passed the article 205-54.

Article 5, setting the SAD 58 kindergarten through 12th grade budget at $8,992,054, passed by 206-44.

The closest article in all towns was Article 6, requesting voters to approve a budget of $68,626 for Adult Education. The vote was 185-65.

In Article 7, the district asked voters to authorize a contract to provide schooling for Carrabassett Valley students in kindergarten through eighth grade, effective July 1, 2005, until June 30, 2011. The article passed, although exact numbers were unavailable.

Article 8, which asked voters to approve an addition not in excess of $1,150,000 to Stratton school passed, although exact numbers were unavailable.
