LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced an exhibition of photographs by local photographer Sharon Scrivens Packer. The collection is comprised of photographs taken in Maine, Michigan, Florida and Croatia.

They can be found on display in the Beeaker Art Gallery on the ground floor of the hospital, adjacent to the gift shop. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Packer has been a photographer since she used her first camera, a Brownie model, to complete a 4-H project when she was in grade school. When she was an exchange student in Germany in her teens she took many photographs using her first “nice” camera, a gift from her parents.

Today, Packer’s photographs continue to celebrate life and attempt to find beauty and grace in everyday moments and in everyday objects.

She has had photographs exhibited in Spectra 2, Maine Women in the Arts, the Chocolate Church Gallery, Lewiston-Auburn College Gallery, Slate’s Restaurant, Auburn Public Library, L-A Arts winter and summer shows, the Maine Festival and the Auburn First Universalist Church.
