The Maine Principals’ Association decided not to take any chances and postponed the Eastern Class A baseball final between Edward Little and Oxford Hills for the third straight day Friday.

With questionable chances for clearing today and the even more iffy prospect of Augusta’s Morton Field drying out in time, the MPA decided to postpone the regional championship until 5 p.m. Monday and the state championship until 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Both games are still set for Morton Field on Piggery Road in Augusta. Westbrook wrapped up the Western A title on Wednesday.

The Eastern A game was originally scheduled to be played at Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium this past Wednesday, with the state game to follow today.

But the MPA decided to move the games closer to the participants.

The regional championships in Eastern B, C and D remained at Mansfield, and all, except the D game, which was postponed Tuesday and played Thursday, went off as scheduled.
