This is a note in response to the article in the front page of the Sun Journal on June 8.
The story of Lyanne Boivin and the shocking realization of her husband’s plight to rectify a so-called oversight in the absence of a do-not-resuscitate form that was not known to the Boivin family.
I am so glad Arthur Boivin chose to share this information with the rest of us uninformed public. I feel so bad for him and his family, plus what they endured.
My wife and I have written out living wills and had no idea of the need for a DNR form to accompany the wills. We will have to update this now to include the DNR papers, etc.
It’s unforgivable to me that our Augusta representatives and senators could jam a travesty like this onto their constituents. They must be proud as they help the medical profession stall our right to a dignified death. I hope other people step forward and state their disgust with this type of flagrant disrespect for our freedoms.
I see that Liz Chapman wrote the story and I thank her and the rest of the Sun Journal staff.
