PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – Two people were rescued Saturday after their 17-foot sail boat overturned in the Piscataqua River.

A Coast Guard rescue boat arrived on the scene within minutes of receiving a call from a nearby fishing vessel and pulled the boaters to safety.

Earlier Saturday, the Coast Guard pulled a 73-year-old man from the water in Bass Harbor, Maine.

The man had fallen from a dinghy he was in while attempting to repair the rudder of a larger sailing vessel that had four people on board.

Coast Guard officials said Saturday evening that the man was suffering from mild hypothermia, but that his condition was improving.
