ROXBURY – A 38-year-old Rumford man was severely injured Saturday afternoon when he tried passing a vehicle on Route 120 and crashed nearly head-on into a truck, police said.
The man was driving a Harley Davidson northbound on Route 120 when he tried passing another vehicle. While in the southbound lane, the motorcycle struck a Ford pickup nearly head-on, Maine State Trooper Kyle Tilsley said.
Police are not releasing the name of the motorcycle driver until his family is notified. He was flown to Central Maine Medical Center with head injuries. Police said he was in critical condition Saturday night.
He was not wearing a helmet.
The truck was driven by 62-year-old Wayne MacDougall of Rumford. He was not injured.
State police are investigating the accident.
