I was extremely upset with the front page story June 20 about the motorcycle accident in Campton, N.H., which resulted in the death of Mark Trask and the critical condition of his wife, Beth.

They are my niece and nephew.

In the very same story, the reporter wrote about rival motorcycle clubs and possible flare-ups during Bike Week at Laconia, N.H. But that had nothing to do with Mark and Beth. They are fine young people, law-abiding citizens and family oriented with two lovely daughters. They loved biking and being together.

The Sun Journal should have printed two separate stories.

The paper has done a great disservice to Mark’s memory and to his family’s peace of mind. An apology from the Sun Journal is definitely in order.

When a reporter writes a story about an accident, he or she should think about the possible pain that might be caused to those already suffering. Sensationalism is not needed at a time like that.
