LEWISTON – Walter H. Case Sr., 70, of Katie Avenue, died Sunday, June 26, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 23, 1935, the son of George and Marguerite (Flatley) Case. He was educated in Lewiston schools.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He married the former Carole Meara on March 20, 1959 in Lewiston.

He was active in training and driving harness race horses for the last 45 years and was a member of the USTA and the MHHA.

He was also a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carole Case of Lewiston; his three sons, Walter Case Jr. of Ohio, Steven Case and his wife, Christine, of Greene, Timothy Case and his fiance, Ellen Engler, of Middletown, N.Y.; his daughter, Kelly Case and her husband, David Ingraham, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; his seven grandchildren, Ryan Case, Eric Case, Dustin Ingraham, Kelsie Ingraham, Sherry Case, Steven Case II, and Nick Case; his two brothers, Thomas and his wife, Armande, of Lewiston, and David and his wife, Lois, of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Jerrod Ingraham Case.
