AUGUSTA – Maine and national efforts to regulate prescription drug pricing will be the topic of the next “State of the State” show on Adelphia Channel 9. The show will be aired at 7:30 p.m. today, and 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3.

Guests on the show are Sharon Treat of the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Pricing and Jude Walsh of Gov. John Baldacci’s office. The program’s host is Lisa Pohlmann.

The discussion includes the state of Maine’s efforts to control the cost of pharmaceuticals. Maine is a national leader in cutting such costs for taxpayers and for citizens buying prescription drugs. Collaborative initiatives and proposals with other states are also scheduled for discussion.

Adelphia Channel 9 is the largest commercial television station in Maine, serving more than 150,000 homes in Bangor, Bar Harbor, Rumford, the Augusta region, Boothbay Harbor, midcoast Maine, and as far south as Kennebunkport. The show’s director is Trudy DeBlois.

Other community television stations that are running the program are WOGT in Ogunquit; WVAC, Channel 2 in Bethel; BaCATTV in Baileyville; Bath Community Television; and Mt. Blue Community Access Corp.
