PORTLAND – Sandra G. Scalfer, 53, a resident of North Main Street, North Monmouth, died Sunday afternoon, June 26, at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

She was born Nov. 12, 1951, in Pittston, Pa., the daughter of Ernest and Ruth Murray Quick. She went to Pittston High School.

On Sept. 19, 1970, in Hughestown, Pa., she married Glenn Paul Scalfer Sr., who was the love of her life for 34 years.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked as an assistant administrator at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Winthrop, retiring in 1998 due to illness.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Scalfer Sr., of North Monmouth; a daughter, Tracy Scalfer and her children, Christopher and Justin Mason of Lewiston; a son, Glenn Scalfer Jr., and his wife, Nikki, of Monmouth; a daughter, Danielle Tremblay and her husband, John, and their children, Marissa and Morgan, of West Gardiner; three brothers, Wayne Quick and Gary Quick of Pittston, Pa., and Brian Quick and his wife, Tracy, of Virginia Beach, Va.; two aunts; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives in Pennsylvania.
