LEWISTON – Registration is open for a number of summer session courses that will begin in July at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn campus.

Most classes will begin the first week of July and meet twice weekly through Aug. 19. A few other courses will be offered on a one- or three-week schedule.

Openings remain in the following courses that will begin the first week in July: College Writing, Intro to Literature, Creative Writing, Fiction Writing, Critical Thinking, Anthropology, Art History, Public Speaking, General Psychology II and Microcomputer Applications.

A number of graduate courses for teachers will be offered through USM’s College of Education and Human Development and the Professional Development Center. The classes, delivered in one-week sessions meeting in July or August, will include the following: Linguistics and Cultural Diversity, ESL: Language Testing and Assessment, Making Classroom Assessment Work and Creative and Critical Thinking.
