TULAROSA, N.M. – Richard Jerome Poliquin, Tularosa, New Mexico, formerly of Buckfield, passed away, after a long illness on Saturday, July 2, with his loving family by his side.

Born on Aug. 14, 1934, son of Origene and Flossie Poliquin, he was educated in Lewiston schools and worked as a first class machinist at the Hill Mill, Bates Manufacturing, Phillips Elmet, and Tambrands Inc., until his retirement.

He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, animals, fishing, and family gatherings.

He also loved New Mexico and hoped to someday climb the mountains there. He will be especially remembered by those who knew him for his incredible charm and fun-loving nature. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him very much.

Surviving family include his wife, Anita, of Tularosa, N.M., with whom he was happily married for 23 years; his children, Doreen Keenan and husband, Charles, of Hebron, Mary Jane Dillingham and husband, Jonathan, of Auburn, Jeannie Norton and husband, Harold, of Pittston, Brian Bachelder of Readfield, Suzanne of North Berwick, Claire of Poland, Kathryn of Palermo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Origene of Brunswick, and Rudolph of Auburn.
